Victoria has been a performing arts teacher and sustainability advisor at Bergen County Academies High School in New Jersey in their nationally recognized Performing Arts Academy since 2004. Previously she worked as a director, producer, and designer on and off Broadway for 15 years. At BCA she teaches Acting, Voice& Speech, Stage Combat, Stage Make-up, Theatre History, Stage Management, Accent & Dialects, Costume Design, Crowdfunding, Scenic Painting, and Props Construction, Sewing, Textile Design, Fashion Design, and Fashion Upcycling. She and her EarthKnigths club created the recycling program and have been annual recipients of the BCUA grant award for sustainability for the past six years. Part of the grant went towards opening a clothing exchange shop in the school! Pretty fun shopping in between classes :)

Victoria was the recipient of the Japan-US Fulbright for Educational Sustainable Development in 2015 and brought back TONS of great ideas from her fabulous visit to Japan.

She was BCA's Teacher of the Year 2011 and in 2008 was added to Who's Who For American Women.

Victoria published her first iBook in 2012 entitled sMASHinFASHin’ and began presenting free workshops on fashion upcycling in libraries and art centers. She co-founded Stubborn Jeans, LLC with her 16-year old daughter – a company creating one-of-a-kind hand upcycled signatures clothing pieces at affordable prices - selling in craft fairs and on Etsy for over 4 years. In 2017, Victoria was approached by the curator of the Paterson Museum to create a large installation of 10 runway-inspired designs composed entirely of off-cuts contributed by Paterson Manufacturers. Victoria guided her Fashion classes at BCA and her Fashion Campers to create, complete and install all the pieces for a successful 6-month installation which will move to another venue in 2018.

Victoria was the founding artistic director of The Shakespeare Summer Arts Institute (2001 to 2010) where she and her team educated children from ages 10-18 in the plays of Shakespeare. The camp for teens commissioned adaptations of full-length Shakespeare plays; rehearsing and presenting one-hour wacky versions for free to hundreds of families in NJ, NY, and Vermont at libraries and art centers.

Victoria has three children and is married to sci-fi/fantasy artist Peter Scanlan.
